    About the role#

    The Milling & Material Handling Engineering Intern will assist our engineering team with the design, implementation, and specification of plant process systems. You will work under the guidance of experienced engineers and designers to develop your technical skills. This is a full-time, on-site internship for Summer 2027 based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

    What you'll do#

    • Design and layout grain and DDGS conveying systems.
    • Create 3D models and multi-view drawings using AutoCAD.
    • Assist with procurement and contract administration tasks.
    • Complete data analysis related to system designs.
    • Support on-site commissioning and start-up activities for material handling equipment.
    • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to meet project goals.
    • Participate in physical site work, which may include using hand and power tools.

    What you'll need#

    • Junior or senior-level standing in a Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Agriculture degree program.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Practical experience using hand and power tools.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and in person.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Sioux Falls, SD (On-site).
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Travel: This role requires up to 50% travel to visit bioprocessing facilities.
    • Physical requirements: You may be required to lift up to 60 pounds, climb ladders and stairs, work at heights, and work in outdoor conditions.
