About the role#
As a Credit Analyst Intern, you will support our sales success by validating customer credit information and learning the risks within agriculture markets. You will help maintain accurate account records, resolve customer inquiries, and work with POET Merchandisers to find safe, creative credit solutions. This is a full-time, on-site internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Review credit applications and recommend lines of credit.
- Analyze financial statements and third-party reports.
- Identify customer risk by examining commodity markets and producer profitability metrics.
- Use your analytical skills to track metrics like DSO and past-due reporting.
- Offer payment and credit options to the commercial team based on transaction details.
- Partner with Merchandising and Transportation teams to address collection concerns.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers.
What you'll need#
- Current sophomore or junior status in a bachelor’s degree program for Finance, Accounting, or Business.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Strong interest in data analysis and a willingness to learn new software.
- A customer service mindset and a drive to solve problems.
- Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- High integrity, critical thinking, and the ability to think objectively.
- Self-awareness and a creative approach to handling uncertainty.
