About the role#
This internship is an entry-level position into a client-facing sales career at Salesforce. You will support a team of Sales and Business Development Representatives across all Public Sector verticals. The program focuses on training you in core sales competencies, with the goal of building the skills necessary for a future role as a Sales Development Representative. You will learn through coaching and mentorship while contributing to real projects.
What you'll do#
- Vet inbound leads from marketing campaigns, events, and website traffic using the Customer 360 platform.
- Generate pipeline across multiple segments through cold calling, email outreach, and social media engagement.
- Nurture and qualify Partner Leads in collaboration with consulting partners.
- Partner with Sales Development Representatives and Sales Executives to drive interest, schedule discovery meetings, and assist with live platform demonstrations.
- Identify key contacts within target accounts and develop personalized outreach strategies.
- Track all prospecting activities within Salesforce to ensure accurate lead conversion data.
What you'll need#
- Current Junior or rising Senior status, graduating in December 2027 or May 2028.
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Strong academic background and performance.
- Prior working experience is preferred.
- Strong communication, networking, and presenting skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Adaptability to change and superior attention to detail.
- Strategic thinking with a bias toward action and a collaborative team-player mindset.
- Familiarity with collaboration tools like Slack and Google Suite, with knowledge of Salesforce technologies as a plus.
- A long-term interest in a software distribution, sales, or technical sales role and a passion for technology.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based in Mclean, Virginia.
- This position requires a hybrid work modality, with 4 days in the office per week.
- The base salary for this position is $28 to $32 per hour.
