About the role#
The Plant Engineering Intern joins our team in Lake Crystal, Minnesota, for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position where you will support plant operations and maintenance initiatives. You will work directly with the Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager to improve efficiency and keep our production levels steady.
What you'll do#
- Troubleshoot and identify process needs to maintain production levels.
- Assist in developing predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
- Coordinate with the maintenance department and outside vendors to determine equipment needs and inspection frequencies.
- Collaborate with management to strengthen and refine existing plant operating procedures.
- Analyze data related to plant operations and research specific site initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding projects and processes while promoting a safe work environment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a Junior or Senior at an accredited 4-year college or university.
- A major in Chemical, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software systems.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 60 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and working in various temperature conditions.
