Progressive Writer Intern

About the role#

The Progressive Writer Intern contributes to the mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions. This role is part of the Core Content Department, which brings together writers with progressive, moderate, and conservative perspectives to cover topics including governance, economics, infrastructure, healthcare, foreign policy, justice, and technology. This is an unpaid internship that offers college credit and professional networking opportunities.

What you'll do#

• Create consistent content for the website, including high-quality OpEds and policy proposals.
• Ensure that the commitment to nonpartisanship, ideological diversity, and civil debate is reflected in all published work.
• Participate in podcasts, events, and other content-related tasks as needed.
• Attend mandatory weekly meetings for the Core Content Department.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a degree program for Political Science, Journalism, English, Public Policy, Media Studies, International Relations, or a related field.
• Exceptional writing skills and proficient verbal communication.
• Experience in policy research or political commentary is preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting deadlines.
• A writing sample is required for consideration.
