About the role#
The Progressive Writer Intern contributes to the mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions. This role is part of the Core Content Department, which includes writers with progressive, moderate, and conservative viewpoints. Interns produce high-quality content such as OpEds and policy proposals covering topics like governance, economics, infrastructure, healthcare, foreign policy, and social issues. This is an unpaid internship that offers college credit and professional networking opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Create consistent content for the website as part of a team.
- Ensure the commitment to nonpartisanship, ideological diversity, and civil debate is reflected in all published work.
- Participate in podcasts, events, and other content-related tasks as needed.
- Attend mandatory weekly Friday meetings for the Core Content Department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Political Science, Journalism, English, Literature, Public Policy, Media Studies, International Relations, or related fields.
- Exceptional writing skills and proficient verbal communication.
- Ability to work remotely, manage your own schedule, and meet deadlines.
- Experience in policy research or political commentary is preferred.
- Must be authorized to intern in the United States.
- A writing sample is required for consideration.
