About the role#
The Moderate Writer Intern contributes to the mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by completing tasks within the Core Content Department. This role focuses on producing political content, including OpEds and policy proposals. While writers are responsible for their own content, the process involves collaboration with a team of core content writers. This is an unpaid internship position.
What you'll do#
- Create consistent content for the website in collaboration with the core content team.
- Ensure all published work reflects a commitment to nonpartisanship, ideological diversity, and civil debate.
- Participate in podcasts, events, and other tasks as needed.
- Attend weekly editorial and all-hands meetings.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward a degree in Political Science, Journalism, English, Literature, Public Policy, Media Studies, International Relations, or a related field.
- Exceptional writing skills in English.
- Experience in policy research, political commentary, or political science is preferred.
- Ability to work remotely on an independent schedule to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain consistent and responsive.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace is preferred.
- Authorization to intern in the United States.
- A writing sample is required with your application.
