Moderate Writer Intern

About the role#

The Moderate Writer Intern contributes to the mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions. This role focuses on producing high-quality content, including OpEds and Policy Proposals for the website, while ensuring that all work reflects a commitment to nonpartisanship, ideological diversity, and civil debate. This is an unpaid internship that offers college credit, professional networking, and resume-building experience.

What you'll do#

• Create consistent content for the website in collaboration with a team of core content writers.
• Ensure all published work adheres to the organization's standards for nonpartisanship and civil discourse.
• Occasionally participate in podcasts, events, and other tasks as needed.
• Attend weekly All Hands meetings and weekly Friday editorial meetings.

What you'll need#

• Currently working towards a degree in Political Science, Journalism, English, Literature, Public Policy, Media Studies, International Relations, or a related field.
• Exceptional writing skills in English and a required writing sample submitted with your application.
• Ability to work remotely and manage your own schedule to meet deadlines.
• Experience in policy research, political commentary, or political science is preferred.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace is preferred.
• Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.

Location & details#

• This position is fully remote.
• Work is coordinated through Zoom and Slack, requiring clear and consistent communication.
• The internship term is on a rolling basis.
