About the role#
The Brennan Center for Justice is seeking an undergraduate intern to join the Communications department on the Brennan en Español team for the Spring 2027 semester. This role provides research, writing, and administrative support to staff. You will work on-site at our New York City office for approximately 10 to 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Assist with general research and administrative tasks, such as coordinating meetings and drafting correspondence.
- Attend and observe substantive meetings, events, and conversations regarding program work.
- Conduct research for various projects, including our newsletter.
- Write social media messaging and assist with posting.
- Contribute to social media videos by writing scripts and helping with editing and recording.
- Monitor coverage in the Spanish-language and Latino press.
- Track announcements and events from Latino organizations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
- High levels of organization, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- A genuine interest in our issues.

- The term is for the Spring 2027 semester.
- This is a paid position at $18.40 per hour, contingent on school policies regarding internships.
