About the role#
The Brennan Center for Justice is looking for undergraduate interns to join our Development department for the Spring 2027 semester. This team manages the philanthropic partnerships that sustain our work in democracy and justice. Interns will be placed within one of three portfolios: Major Donor Relations, Institutional Partnerships, or Direct Response. You will help with the administrative and clerical tasks that keep our fundraising efforts running smoothly.
What you'll do#
- Conduct prospect research and update the fundraising database.
- Assist with event organization and support the Brennan Legacy Awards.
- Prepare mailings to donors and draft routine correspondence.
- Coordinate meetings and assist with external correspondence.
- Provide general office support, including filing, photocopying, answering phones, and shipping.
- Cover the reception desk as needed.
- Support the goals of the individual giving and institutions teams.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student status for Spring 2027.
- Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- A detail-oriented and organized approach to tasks.
- Punctuality, energy, and the ability to work independently.
- A genuine interest in the issues addressed by the Brennan Center.
- Database experience is preferred but not required.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site internship based in New York, New York.
- The term runs during the Spring 2027 semester.
- The role is paid at $18.40 per hour, contingent on your school's internship policies.
- Expect to work approximately 10 to 20 hours per week.
