About the role#
The Brennan Center for Justice is looking for an undergraduate student to join our team as an IT intern for the Winter 2027 term. This role supports our IT Director by providing help desk assistance to our staff. You will work on-site at our Washington, D.C. office.
What you'll do#
- Provide desktop and telephone support to all employees.
- Document all support calls and the steps taken to resolve issues.
- Help staff with software such as MS Office, Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, and the Sage fundraising database.
- Upgrade, repair, and replace computer hardware and printers as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student status for Spring 2027.
- Strong verbal and listening skills to communicate effectively with staff.
- Ability to solve problems and pay attention to detail.
- Beginner knowledge of hardware and software installation.
- Familiarity with MS Office in both desktop and cloud environments.
- Understanding of standard desktop concepts, including TCP/IP settings and network troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of major smartphone and tablet models, operating systems, and Macintosh platforms.
