About the role#
The Community Events Intern supports our mission to reduce partisanship by planning and hosting speaker series and developing our College Campus Initiative. You will work with the Director of Community Events, the COO, and the CEO to build out college chapters and facilitate dialogue on political tolerance and policy solutions. This is a remote, unpaid internship requiring a commitment through the end of the semester.
What you'll do#
- Assist with planning and running ONC booths and networking events on college campuses.
- Collaborate with leadership to plan and launch ONC College Chapters.
- Network and conduct outreach to potential mentors and experts.
- Manage scheduling for the Community Speaker Series for internal and external audiences.
- Update event details on Eventbrite and manage Zoom scheduling.
- Complete assigned deliverables to ensure team milestones and deadlines are met.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field.
- A strong interest in event management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to remain responsive and effective in your communication, including during conflict.
- Comfort working remotely and managing your own schedule to meet deadlines.
- Ability to attend weekly organization-wide and community department meetings.
- Authorization to intern in the U.S.
- Experience with Eventbrite and Google Workspace is preferred.
- A one-page cover letter submitted with your application.
Location & details#
This position is remote. While based in Santa Monica, California, all work is conducted via Zoom and Slack. This is an unpaid internship.
