About the role#
We are looking for a Human Resources Intern to join our team in Akron. This paid position offers hands-on experience in recruitment, onboarding, employee records, and general HR administration. You will work directly with our HR and Recruitment staff to support daily operations and special projects. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in building a career in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Organizational Leadership.
What you'll do#
- Maintain and organize employee files and HR documents.
- Perform data entry to keep internal records and databases current.
- Scan, copy, and file HR materials.
- Schedule and coordinate candidate interviews.
- Participate in the recruitment process and conduct professional reference checks.
- Support new-hire onboarding and pre-employment tasks.
- Assist with candidate communication and recruitment activities.
- Help the HR team with administrative responsibilities and special projects.
- Gain exposure to various HR functions based on departmental needs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in HR or recruitment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- A professional approach to handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
