About the role#
This unpaid internship provides practical experience for students pursuing a career in Human Resources. You will support the Human Resources office with daily clerical tasks and projects while gaining exposure to recruitment, benefits, and employment reporting. This role requires up to 15 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Handle basic office and clerical duties to support the HR team.
- Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers via phone and email.
- Assist with filing and document management using various software and databases.
- Help with HR projects including recruitment and benefits administration.
- Create and format professional letters and reports.
- Work independently to manage your tasks and meet deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university.
- Completion of at least two college-level courses in Human Resources or a related field.
- A High School diploma or GED.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, database software, and the internet.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy environment.
- A valid California Driver’s License and daily use of a personal, insured vehicle.
- Ability to pass a physical examination, TB clearance, and drug screen.
- Required immunization records for influenza, pertussis, and measles.
- Ability to obtain criminal background check clearance, a signed criminal record statement, and a signed Acknowledgement to Report Child Abuse form.
