About the role#
Oriana House, Inc. is seeking an Employment Specialist Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This part-time, unpaid internship is based on-site in Akron, Ohio. The role is open to students majoring in Psychology, Sociology, or related fields.
What you'll do#
- Lead group instruction on job seeking, resume writing, basic computer skills, and adult education.
- Manage the client computer lab and provide one-on-one assistance.
- Administer assessments to evaluate education levels, employability, and vocational interests.
- Track client attendance, progress, and participation in program activities.
- Connect clients with relevant community resources.
- Monitor client compliance with program rules and agency policies.
- Uphold client rights and maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA.
