About the role#
The Corporate Finance Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week internship designed to provide hands-on experience within Nomura's Finance division. This program integrates interns into the team, offering exposure to the firm's financial performance, including revenues, expenses, and capital resources. You will work alongside professionals at all levels, receive mentorship, and participate in seminars and discussion groups. This is not a rotational program.
What you'll do#
- Product Control: Perform daily and monthly P&L reconciliation, reporting, and analysis. Provide commentary on P&L drivers and work with trading desks and Operations teams to resolve valuation or trade booking issues.
- Independent Portfolio Valuations: Verify pricing models, methodologies, and fair value determinations. Test model inputs and resolve pricing discrepancies.
- Cash Management and Analytics: Analyze and present performance data, including revenues and costs, while producing ad hoc financial reports and trend analyses.
- Financial Control: Manage the month-end close process, reconcile accounts, and prepare financial statements.
- Control & Oversight: Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls through monthly reviews of balance sheet activities and manage the account attestation process.
- Regulatory Reporting: Assist in preparing the monthly FOCUS report and analyze daily net capital for broker-dealer requirements.
- Strategic Initiatives: Manage a portfolio of change initiatives by defining objectives, creating delivery plans, and tracking progress, risks, and milestones.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or FinTech.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- Minimum GPA of 3.2.
- Current authorization to work for any employer in the United States. Nomura does not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
- Strong organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand financial products.

- Compensation: $65,000 annualized for rising juniors and $75,000 annualized for rising seniors. This is a paid, non-exempt position eligible for overtime.
