About the role#
The Financial Planning Intern will assist our team in servicing high net worth clients through holistic financial planning and relationship support. You will build foundational advisory, consultative, and business development skills through hands-on experience. This role focuses on supporting advisors with client onboarding, meeting preparation, and the creation of financial plans.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and process paperwork to support client onboarding.
- Schedule client meetings and create materials to explain financial concepts.
- Observe client meetings to learn how advisors build relationships and solve challenges.
- Perform follow-up tasks such as documentation, research, and solution development.
- Use financial planning and CRM software for plan development and data management.
- Assist with data entry, plan modeling, and compiling deliverables.
- Support account maintenance and money movement processes.
- Contribute ideas during team discussions on client service and business development.
- Collaborate with team members on special projects.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree with an expected graduation date within 12 months of the start of the internship.
- Major in wealth management, financial planning, finance, or a related field.
- Demonstrated leadership experience through work or extracurricular activities.
- Interest in a client-facing advisory career.
- Strong customer service orientation and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate complex topics in a simple, relatable way.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Curiosity about financial markets, planning strategies, and client motivations.
