About the role#
As a Financial Planning Intern at Mariner, you will support our staff in providing financial planning and relationship support to high net worth clients. This position offers hands-on experience in advisory, communication, and business development. You will work directly with advisors to prepare for client interactions and assist in the delivery of financial services.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and process paperwork to support client onboarding.
- Schedule client meetings and create materials to explain financial concepts clearly.
- Participate in follow-up tasks such as research, documentation, and solution development.
- Use CRM and financial planning software for data management and plan development.
- Assist with data entry, plan modeling, and compiling deliverables for clients.
- Support account maintenance and money movement processes.
- Contribute to team discussions regarding client service and business development.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a bachelor or master degree with an expected graduation date within 12 months of the internship start.
- You have demonstrated leadership through work or extracurricular activities.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- You have an interest in a client-facing advisory career.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to explain complex topics simply.

- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Columbus, Ohio.
