About the role#
As a Financial Planning Intern at Mariner, you will support our staff in providing financial planning and relationship support for high net worth clients. This role focuses on building advisory, communication, and business development skills through hands-on experience. You will work directly with advisors to prepare for client interactions and manage the details of financial plans.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and process paperwork for client onboarding.
- Schedule meetings and create materials to help explain financial concepts.
- Participate in follow-up tasks, including research, documentation, and solution development.
- Use CRM and financial planning software to manage data and assist in plan development.
- Support daily client service activities such as account maintenance and money movement.
- Observe client meetings to learn how advisors build relationships and solve problems.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration, with graduation expected within 12 months.
- Demonstrated leadership experience through work or extracurricular activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Interest in pursuing a client-facing advisory career.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to explain complex topics clearly.

- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship based in Bloomington, Minnesota.
- The internship term is rolling.
