About the role#
As a Tax Intern at Mariner, you will handle real client work while gaining practical experience in tax planning and compliance. You will work alongside our tax professionals to build your skills in a professional environment. This position is a full-time, paid internship for the summer of 2026.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with tax professionals to learn about personal, fiduciary, S-Corporation, partnership, private foundation, and gift tax returns.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns, income tax projections, estimated tax vouchers, and extension forms.
- Work with wealth teams to service clients regarding integrated tax and wealth planning.
- Support tax professionals on special projects that directly assist our clients.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, with an expected graduation date around May 2026.
- Demonstrated leadership experience through work or extracurricular activities.
- Basic knowledge of accounting or tax principles.
- Strong aptitude for working with numbers and performing detailed calculations accurately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain findings clearly.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive client information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
