Intern, Financial Planning

About the role#

As a Financial Planning Intern, you will assist your team in providing holistic financial planning and client relationship support. This summer internship is designed to build foundational advisory, consultative, and business development skills through hands-on experience. You will work directly with Advisors to support client onboarding, meeting preparation, and the creation of financial plans.

What you'll do#

• Support client onboarding by preparing and processing necessary paperwork.
• Participate in client meeting follow-up tasks, including documentation, research, and solution development.
• Assist with account maintenance, money movement processes, data entry, and plan modeling.
• Use financial planning and CRM software to assist with data management and plan deliverables.
• Observe client meetings to gain experience in how Advisors build relationships and solve client challenges.
• Collaborate with team members on special projects and contribute ideas to improve client service.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree with an expected graduation date of May 2026.
• Demonstrated leadership experience through work or extracurricular activities.
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn about financial markets, planning strategies, and client motivations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with a willingness to learn financial planning tools and CRM systems.
• Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work full-time for the 8–10 week duration of the Summer 2026 program.
• Preferred majors include Finance, Economics, Psychology, Communications, Marketing, or Sociology.

Location & details#

• Location: United States (On-site).
• Term: Summer 2026 (Full-time).
• Compensation: $21 – $26 per hour, based on geographic work location.
• Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.
