About the role#
The Practice Management team at Mariner supports our Financial Advising division. As an intern, you will assist in developing training content, conducting research, and supporting advisor enablement efforts. You will attend meetings, engage with subject matter experts, and contribute to projects that help advisors serve their clients. This is a hands-on learning experience for students interested in financial planning.
What you'll do#
- Assist with preparing presentations, job aids, and training materials for advisor education programs.
- Attend meetings and trainings to learn about advisor tools, planning practices, and consulting strategies.
- Support team projects involving advisor coaching, mentoring programs, and internal resource development.
- Provide basic research on planning topics such as estate planning, tax, and Medicare, and share findings with the team.
- Assist in evaluating planning technology tools like eMoney, Holistiplan, and Vanilla, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Organize and update resources for advisors, including templates and onboarding content.
- Observe subject matter experts and participate in discussions on advanced planning areas.
- Assist with presentation preparation and review incoming advisor questions.
- Collaborate with marketing to review and refine content for advisors.
- Complete a capstone project, such as a client case study or a proposed training solution.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree with an expected graduation date within 12 months of the start of the internship (May 2026).
- Demonstrated leadership experience through work or extracurricular activities.
- Majors in Finance, Business Administration, or Marketing.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Solid research and writing abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to simplify and explain complex ideas.
