The Practice Management team supports the Financial Advising division at Mariner. This internship provides a hands-on learning experience for students interested in financial planning. You will work closely with subject matter experts to assist in developing training content, conducting research, and supporting advisor enablement efforts. This role is designed to help you build skills in financial planning, business development, and client service.
What you'll do#
- Assist with preparing presentations, job aids, and training materials for advisor education programs.
- Attend meetings and trainings to learn about advisor tools, planning practices, and consulting strategies.
- Support team projects involving advisor coaching, mentoring programs, and internal resource development.
- Provide basic research on planning topics such as estate planning, tax, and Medicare, and share findings with the team.
- Assist in evaluating planning technology tools, including eMoney, Holistiplan, and Vanilla, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Help organize and update resources for advisors, including templates, reference materials, and onboarding content.
- Observe subject matter experts and participate in discussions on advanced planning areas.
- Assist with presentation preparation and review incoming advisor questions.
- Collaborate with marketing to review and refine content for advisors.
- Complete a capstone project, such as creating a client case study or presenting a proposed training solution.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Marketing.
- Expected graduation date within 12 months of the internship start (May 2026).
- Demonstrated leadership experience through work or extracurricular activities.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to learn new technologies and platforms.
