As a Business Development Intern on the Organic Growth team, you will gain hands-on experience in client acquisition and relationship management within the financial advisory sector. You will work directly with sales professionals to understand how new client relationships are developed, how prospective clients are qualified, and how the firm's advisory model is communicated to the marketplace. This role provides exposure to the business development process while teaching you how to align financial planning expertise with ethical, consultative sales practices.
What you'll do#
- Learn to explain the firm’s mission, investment philosophy, and client experience to potential clients.
- Assist team members with identifying, researching, and qualifying prospective clients.
- Help create presentation materials, proposals, and follow-up communications.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and strategy discussions regarding the client acquisition process.
- Conduct market or demographic research to uncover new business opportunities.
- Observe experienced professionals to learn best practices in consultative, ethical selling.
- Manage and update the firm’s CRM system to track outreach and client interactions.
- Collaborate with marketing and client service teams to ensure consistent communication and a high-quality client experience.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and client confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree with an expected graduation date within 12 months of the start of the internship (December 2026 or May 2027 graduates).
- Majoring in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management tools.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical abilities, and effective communication skills.
- A basic understanding of investments and portfolio performance.
- Prior internship or coursework in finance, investment management, or analytics is a plus.
Location & details#
- Term: Summer 2026 (approximately 10 weeks).
- Modality: Full-time, on-site.
- Compensation: $20 per hour.
- Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.
