About the role#
As a Financial Planning Intern, you will support our staff in servicing high net worth clients. This role focuses on holistic financial planning and client relationship support. You will build foundational skills in advisory, consulting, and business development by working directly with our advisors. You will gain hands-on experience through client onboarding, meeting preparation, and the creation of financial plans.
What you'll do#
- Support client onboarding by preparing and processing paperwork.
- Assist with scheduling client meetings and creating materials to explain financial concepts.
- Observe client meetings to learn how advisors build relationships and solve challenges.
- Participate in meeting follow-up tasks like research, documentation, and solution development.
- Use financial planning and CRM software for data management and plan modeling.
- Assist with data entry and compiling plan deliverables.
- Support client service activities, including account maintenance and money movement.
- Contribute your ideas during team discussions.
- Collaborate on special projects and client service initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor or master degree with an expected graduation date within 12 months of the start date.
- A major in wealth management, financial planning, finance, or a related field.
- Demonstrated leadership through work or extracurricular activities.
- An interest in a client-facing advisory career.
- Strong customer service orientation and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to communicate complex topics in a simple, relatable way.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort contributing ideas in group settings.
- Curiosity about financial markets, planning strategies, and client decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
