About the role#
Nokia is hiring a Software Applications Co-op for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based in Ottawa. You will work in a hybrid capacity from January 4th to April 30th, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Write scripts and applications using Java, JavaScript, Perl, and XML to simulate network scenarios and management activities.
- Build network setups to support feature development and testing.
- Create and run test plans to validate product functionality.
- Troubleshoot and investigate product defects found during testing.
- Schedule automated regression tests and maintain test beds, including performance and regression scripts.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Master's degree, bachelor's degree, or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field at an accredited Canadian school.
- Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, Perl, and XML.
- A proven ability to learn new concepts quickly.
- Strong problem-resolution skills.
- It is helpful if you have experience with UNIX environments like RHEL or Solaris, Virtual Machines, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with networking and telecommunications, including L2/L3 services, routing protocols like OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, and RIP, or MPLS is a plus.
