About the role#
This is a four month internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the team as a trainee to gain practical experience in test automation and product validation within the telecommunications industry. This position is based in Ottawa and follows a hybrid work schedule.
What you'll do#
- Write scripts and applications using XML, REST, JavaScript, and Perl to simulate network scenarios.
- Build and run test plans to verify product functionality.
- Investigate and document product defects found during testing.
- Maintain regression and performance test beds, publish results, and develop new testing functionality.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Master's, Bachelor's degree, or Diploma program in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Programming skills in Java, Perl, XML, and JavaScript.
- Understanding of software testing methodologies.
- Ability to solve problems and learn new systems quickly.
- Helpful additions include experience with Git, Jira, Linux, Windows, Virtual Machines, and knowledge of telecommunications networks.
