About the role#
Nokia is hiring four Deepfield Software Engineer Co-ops for the summer of 2027. You will join an engineering team to build solutions using AI-powered development tools. This is a full-time, paid position based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, operating on a hybrid schedule. The term runs from May 2027 through August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Write clean, scalable, maintainable, and testable code using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.
- Participate in code reviews with your peers.
- Contribute to architecture and design discussions for new products.
- Triage, debug, and fix software defects.
- Contribute to the growth of the team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field at an accredited US school.
- Working knowledge of development in a Linux environment.
- Proficiency in coding with LLM-based tools.
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts.
- For backend or test-focused work, experience with compiled and scripting languages such as Python, Rust, or C is preferred.
- For frontend-focused work, exposure to JavaScript and experience or coursework in React is a plus.
- A team-oriented mindset and the ability to learn and iterate quickly.
