About the role#
We are looking for a software engineering intern to join our team in Plantation, Florida. You will work on the development of digital two-way radios for public safety customers, including police officers and firefighters. This is a full-time position for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Work within an Agile/Scrum team to design, implement, and test new radio features.
- Collaborate with developers across multiple global sites.
- Identify, track, and fix software defects within RTOS environments.
- Develop and run unit, integration, system, load, and acceptance tests.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Status as a US Citizen, permanent resident, or an MS student with valid work authorization.
- Preferred experience includes C/C++, real-time embedded software, and Linux.
- Familiarity with version control tools like Git and embedded debug tools such as emulators or JTAG is helpful.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
