About the role#
This is a 4-month internship starting in September or October 2026. You will join the team responsible for the WaveLogic family of products, which are central to high-speed optical fiber transmission. You will work on next-generation high-speed circuit development within a team focused on fiber-optic modems.
What you'll do#
- Partner with senior analog designers to perform layout feasibility studies and evaluate design strategies for high-speed circuits.
- Create custom layouts for advanced analog and mixed-signal blocks, including floorplanning, placement, and routing.
- Run physical verification tasks such as DRC, LVS, EM, and IR drop analysis to verify layout quality.
- Test new layout tool features and processes to improve team efficiency.
- Work with circuit designers to spot and fix layout-related risks during the design cycle.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering or related degree program.
- Hands-on experience with custom analog and mixed-signal layout design in deep sub-micron CMOS technologies.
- Knowledge of layout techniques like floorplanning, device matching, and parasitic minimization.
- Experience with industry-standard tools including Cadence Virtuoso and Siemens Calibre.
- Ability to interpret and debug DRC and LVS reports.
