About the role#
We are looking for a Co-op student to join our Radio Algorithms team in Ottawa. You will work on wireless communication technologies, machine learning, computer vision, and signal processing for next-generation radio systems. This role involves collaboration with teams in Canada and Sweden to build hands-on experience in algorithm development and system validation.
What you'll do#
- Develop and evaluate signal processing and machine learning algorithms for radio products.
- Contribute to computer vision and AI-based technology investigations.
- Create simulations, prototypes, and proof-of-concept solutions.
- Analyze large data sets to extract actionable insights.
- Execute software and hardware verification activities in a lab environment.
- Design and automate test methodologies and analysis tools.
- Work with system, hardware, and software engineers.
- Support troubleshooting, performance analysis, and technology evaluations.
- Participate in technical reviews and innovation activities.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Wireless Communications, Signal Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Strong academic performance.
- Programming experience in Python or C/C++.
- Knowledge of machine learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, or scikit-learn.
- Understanding of signal processing fundamentals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Preferred: Experience with computer vision, wireless communication systems, MATLAB, Linux development environments, FPGA, DSP, embedded systems, or lab equipment like signal generators and spectrum analyzers.
