About the role#
As a Cyber Risk Analyst Co-op, you will support the Digital Risk and Compliance team within our Digital Risk and Cyber Security department. This role involves managing cyber risk assessment requests, conducting security assessments, and providing reporting to senior leaders. You must be currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution and remain enrolled throughout the 8-month term.
What you'll do#
- Act as a courageous safety leader and follow all environmental and safety procedures.
- Champion the 3 lines of defense model for risk management, serving as a 2nd line of defense facilitator.
- Record and review cyber risk assessment requests to determine assessment levels.
- Conduct Basic and some Intermediate Assessments, while providing support for Advanced Assessments as needed.
- Lead risk briefings with requestors and document assessment reports.
- Assist requestors with updates to their risk registers.
- Maintain performance and compliance dashboards, develop presentations, and manage business operation materials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program related to Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security, or Risk Management.
- Ability to demonstrate Teck values of being responsible, courageous, respectful, inclusive, humble, and driven.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create clear and engaging materials.
- A basic understanding of cyber security concepts and frameworks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Adaptability and the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups.
