About the role#
Elk Valley Resources is hiring a Desktop Support Co-op for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in the Elk Valley of British Columbia. You will work across our operations in Sparwood and Elkford, gaining hands-on experience in a mining environment while receiving mentorship from technical specialists.
What you'll do#
- Follow all health and safety programs and policies.
- Work with your team to improve current mining systems, focusing on production, quality, and reliability.
- Partner with help desk and network operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve end user issues.
- Plan, coordinate, and communicate system changes.
- Develop and evaluate new technologies to improve business processes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent without learner's restrictions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Willingness to work outside of a traditional office, as some tasks occur on active mine sites.
- Previous technical work experience is an asset.

- Term: Winter 2027 (8 months).
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $4,117 - $5,192 CAD per month, based on completed academic semesters and previous co-op experience.
