About the role#
This co-op position offers hands-on experience in information technology within an active mining operation. You will work alongside experienced IT professionals to support employees across administrative, operational, and remote work environments. This role is based at Highland Valley Copper, Canada's largest open-pit copper mine.
What you'll do#
- Act as a safety leader by following and promoting all safety and environmental rules and procedures.
- Provide technical support by troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and system issues for site-based employees.
- Manage and resolve IT service requests through the ticketing system.
- Set up, configure, and maintain computers, laptops, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
- Handle IT inventory, asset tracking, and equipment lifecycle management.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering (Computer or Software).
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking concepts, and software troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for the duration of the co-op.
- Previous work experience in a technical environment is considered an asset.

- Term: Winter 2027 (8 months).
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: CAD $4108 - $4825 per month.
