    About the role#

    This is a 16-month, full-time, paid Co-Op term beginning in May 2026. You will work on-site in Waterdown, Ontario, collaborating with Operations, Engineering, and Production teams. Your work will focus on identifying and implementing improvements to products and processes while ensuring they meet quality standards and customer requirements.

    What you'll do#

    • Lead and participate in assigned projects related to mechanical engineering activities within Operations.
    • Provide mechanical design analysis and testing support for new and existing products.
    • Participate in design reviews and support verification and validation of new product designs.
    • Work with the Mechanical Frontline team to resolve technical issues and develop new system processes.
    • Use standard engineering methods and best practices to solve problems and complete tasks.
    • Capture and analyze data regarding shop floor throughput, cycle times, and estimation accuracy.
    • Create and maintain Manufacturing Assembly Procedures (MAPs).
    • Support documentation changes, including Work Instructions, service procedures, and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) authoring.
    • Review change requests from engineering and mechanical staff and implement updates as needed.
    • Support business priorities as directed by Operations Engineering leadership.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a university Mechanical Engineering program and in good standing with an accredited co-op program.
    • Ability to commit to a 16-month term starting in May 2026.
    • Ability to obtain Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) clearance.
    • Experience with a solid modeling CAD package (SolidWorks is preferred).
    • Familiarity with electro-mechanical manufacturing processes and the ability to read mechanical drawings.
    • Strong technical communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills with mechanical design experience from coursework or previous work.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
    • Strong mathematical and analysis skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a project-based environment and collaborate across teams.
    • Highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented approach.

    • Location: Waterdown, Ontario, Canada.
    • Term: 16-month, full-time, on-site Co-Op.
    • Compensation: $25 per hour.
