About the role#
Ericsson is hiring for a Software Developer Co-op for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Ottawa, Ontario. You will work on 5G technology, with roles available in software development, tools development, data science, and analytics. We will discuss which specific area best fits your interests during the interview process.
What you'll do#
- Develop real-time 5G base station software.
- Collaborate with team members using Agile methods.
- Create automated 5G test cases and tools.
- Apply AI and ML skills to your development tasks.
- Build command-line and web-based tools to support software development.
- Perform feature and integration testing on 5G lab equipment.
- Investigate and resolve issues within the test environment.
- Generate test data for design validation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree program.
- Academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A GPA of 2.7 or higher.
- Programming experience in Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C/C++, Perl, Java SpringBoot, or HTML/CSS.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with tools like Linux, Gerrit, GitHub, Jenkins, Django, or Angular is helpful.
- Knowledge of HTTP, RESTful frameworks, database fundamentals, Kubernetes, or Docker is an asset.

- Compensation: Paid position with rates based on degree level ($25.50 to $41.00 per hour CAD).
