About the role#
Nokia is hiring a Software Developer intern for the Winter 2027 term. This role is part of a talent pipeline for students in engineering and computer science. You will gain experience across the full software development lifecycle while working on the NSP platform.
What you'll do#
- Analyze feature requirements, provide estimates, and handle the design and implementation of NSP platform features.
- Write unit tests and build automation for new features.
- Create design documentation that aligns with feature specifications.
- Follow development best practices to ensure code quality before handing work to the QA team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve defects to support internal and external customers.
What you'll need#
- You are currently a 2nd year or higher student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering at an accredited Canadian school.
- Experience developing, testing, and maintaining Java applications.
- Familiarity with container and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Helm Charts, and OpenStack.
- Knowledge of security concepts including PKI, Certificates, TLS, and Authentication.
- Hands-on experience with Linux, Vagrant, Git, GitLab, Gradle, and Jenkins.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and integrate new technologies.

- Location: Ottawa, Ontario (Hybrid).
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 4 to April 30).
- Duration: 4 months.
- This is a paid, full-time internship position.
