About the role#
This is a paid, full-time co-op position for the Winter 2027 term. You will join an agile team to help build and maintain internal tools and automation frameworks. The role focuses on gaining practical experience across the software development lifecycle while supporting internal initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Build web applications, dashboards, and scripts to support internal projects.
- Design, implement, prototype, and test new code and frameworks.
- Integrate technologies like Kubernetes, Helm, OpenStack, Flask, Django, and Python.
- Participate in team syncs to share progress and keep projects aligned.
- Monitor system behavior to find and fix performance issues.
- Explore and assess new automation technologies for potential use.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor, Master, or Diploma program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field at an accredited Canadian school.
- Experience with scripting languages like Python, Bash, Shell, or Perl.
- Knowledge of JavaScript and React.
- Familiarity with Java, Java APIs, and SQL databases.
- Proficiency working in a Linux environment.
- A solid grasp of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
- It is beneficial to have an understanding of cloud platforms like Kubernetes, Docker, or OpenStack, as well as experience with automation tools like Ansible and microservices architecture.

- Location: Ottawa, Ontario (Hybrid).
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 4th to April 30th).
