About the role#
Join the Layer 1 Test Frameworks team in Ottawa as a co-op student. You will work on the infrastructure that supports 5G and 6G Radio Access Networks. Our team builds tools for Layer 1 developers who work on high-performance multi-core ASICs. You will help us expand our automated testing capabilities as our products grow in complexity.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with users to define requirements for the Layer 1 test framework.
- Implement, verify, and maintain new features within the framework.
- Design solutions to improve the efficiency, maintainability, and usability of the toolchain.
- Troubleshoot framework and environment issues for software developers globally.
- Assist with exploratory projects that require customized testing solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- A GPA of 2.7 or higher.
- Programming skills in Python and familiarity with C.
- Experience with software configuration and delivery tools like Git, Gerrit, or Jenkins.
- Understanding of product verification concepts such as requirements, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Comfort working in a Linux development environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of real-time embedded systems, multi-core architectures, or Wireless Communications Standards is an asset.

- Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027, starting January 4th, 2027.
- Duration: 12 months.
- Modality: On-site, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: Paid position.
