About the role#
NiSource is seeking a People Analytics Intern to join the Human Resources organization for a 12-week summer program starting in May 2027. This role is intended for students entering their junior or senior year. You will work within a team environment, complete meaningful tasks, and collaborate with managers on important projects. You will also participate in professional development exercises and team-building activities while gaining an overview of utility industry operations.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with teams including Organizational Development, Talent Acquisition, Talent Strategy, Leadership Development, Change Management, Human Resource Consultants, and Inclusion and Diversity.
- Build professional relationships with other interns and staff across all levels of the company.
- Contribute to data-driven projects within the Human Resources department.
- Gain exposure to current events and operations within the utilities industry.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university with a major in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Business Analytics, or Human Resources.
- Completion of intermediate-level coursework.
- Advanced experience with Excel and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Power BI, Python, data visualization, survey analysis, and data cleaning and validation.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Columbus, Ohio, and reside within 50 miles of the reporting location.
