About the role#
NiSource is seeking an IT Network Intern for a 12-week program starting in May 2027. You will join our department to work on infrastructure projects, build professional relationships, and gain insight into the utilities industry through team-based tasks and development exercises.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical design leadership and oversee processes for incident, problem, change, asset, and configuration management.
- Work alongside enterprise architects, program managers, and IT analysts to support infrastructure operations.
- Help develop monitoring tools, standards, and compliance requirements for enterprise systems.
- Analyze data to identify trends and apply automation to improve monitoring processes.
- Collaborate with various teams to mature end-to-end monitoring for systems that support our operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for data science, computer science, computer engineering, statistics, or mathematics.
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate study with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Strong analytical skills, including process development, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis.
- Proficiency with computers, operating systems, and software such as the MS Office Suite and MS Project.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship located on-site in either Merrillville, Indiana, or Columbus, Ohio.
- Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the reporting location to be eligible.
