About the role#
This co-op position provides on-site engineering support for the team managing pre-production manufacturing of steering systems. You will work in a low-volume, production-like environment that balances hands-on tasks with office work. You will gain exposure to product design, development, manufacturing, and assembly processes. We offer flexible scheduling to help you balance your school requirements.
What you'll do#
- Review technical drawings to ensure prototype materials are ordered correctly.
- Collect and summarize prototype test data to assist with product development and problem solving.
- Support prototype builds, provide input for specifications, and help troubleshoot issues.
- Assist the manufacturing team with process development and tooling procurement.
- Participate in supplier technical reviews to ensure the quality of purchased parts.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 2-year college or 4-year university local to Saginaw, Michigan.
- Current pursuit of a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Civil, Chemical, or Computer Engineering.
- Minimum cumulative 2.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work on-site in Saginaw for 20-32 hours per week during the Fall and Winter semesters.
- Valid driver license with a good driving record.
- Modeling and 3D printing experience is preferred.
