About the role#
Valeo is seeking a Quality Engineer Co-Op for the Summer 2027 semester at our manufacturing facility in Hamilton, Ohio. This role provides hands-on experience in an automotive manufacturing environment. You will work with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Production teams to support product quality, process performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality control plans, work instructions, and quality procedures.
- Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action activities using 8D methodologies.
- Support new product and process validation through testing, data collection, and analysis.
- Collect, analyze, and report quality performance data to identify trends and risks.
- Assist with supplier quality activities including performance monitoring and audits.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve process capability.
- Participate in projects focused on defect reduction and process optimization.
- Prepare quality reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
- Apply automotive quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, Control Plans, and MSA.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong academic performance and demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Demonstrated interest in automotive manufacturing, quality assurance, and process improvement.
- Previous internship, co-op, or project experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is preferred.
