About the role#
As a Purchasing Intern, you will support our procurement operations by assisting with quotes, purchase order placement, and transition planning for commodities. You will gain practical experience in the field while contributing to the daily efficiency of the purchasing team. This is a year-round position that requires part-time availability during the school year and full-time hours during the summer.
What you'll do#
- Create and manage purchase orders, including spot buy orders.
- Send requests for quotes and requirements to suppliers.
- Review overstock reports, open orders, and expedite reports.
- Work with project buyers to secure materials for design and project validation builds.
- Attend supplier meetings and document meeting minutes.
- Analyze data and identify issues that require further review.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Ability to create purchase orders and review complex reports.
- Familiarity with Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes.
- Strong data analysis and communication skills.
