About the role#
This Purchasing Co-Op position supports the Senior Global Commodity Manager for Semiconductors at Nexteer Automotive. The role is designed to integrate classroom education with hands-on experience in a technical manufacturing environment, focusing on supply chain management and procurement strategy.
What you'll do#
- Support Global Commodity Managers with global data collection, validation, and analysis to inform sourcing and negotiation activities.
- Assist with RFI/RFQ events by gathering quotations, consolidating technical responses, and preparing comparison summaries.
- Prepare and organize negotiation and contract documentation with attention to detail.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, and operations, to support cost reduction, P2P improvements, and continuous improvement projects.
- Support supplier performance reviews, including assessments and QBR preparation.
- Contribute to procurement benchmarking, monitor supply market trends, and assist with forecasting and strategic planning.
- Help optimize data workflows, reporting formats, and tools used by the commodity team.
- Assist with contingency planning and communication during supply disruptions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Strong analytical skills and a result-driven mindset.
- Must have the right to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
