About the role#
The Sustainability & ESG Co-Op reports to the Executive Director of Sustainability & ESG. This role supports global sustainability initiatives and works across multiple disciplines including environmental and social topics, supply chain, information systems, data analytics, and engineering. You will assist in liaising between corporate functions and external partners to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
What you'll do#
- Support the cross-functional Sustainability Work Group by assisting with scope setting, benchmarking, and analysis.
- Manage sustainability-related risks and controls while validating ESG information to support data-driven decision-making.
- Assist with ESG benchmarking and data analytics projects by gathering unstructured data for tracking performance metrics like energy efficiency, carbon emissions, and sustainable procurement.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop projects focused on ESG risk management and data analytics.
- Develop visualization tools and dashboards for business decision-makers.
- Support communications and presentations by delivering key findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Conduct exploratory research on sustainability trends to identify efficiency opportunities and mitigate material risks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a 4-year university local to Auburn Hills, MI.
- Pursuing a degree in Sustainability, ESG studies, Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, Program Management, or a related field.
- Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Experience with data analytics and visualization.
- Ability to interpret data analytics and explain them clearly to stakeholders with non-technical backgrounds.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a global cross-functional team.
