About the role#
As an Environmental Intern at JLG, you will support the Environmental team with initiatives focused on environmental compliance, waste reduction, process improvement, and operational efficiency. This role provides hands on experience in a manufacturing environment, working alongside environmental and safety professionals on projects involving waste management, sampling, inspections, audits, and continuous improvement activities.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the direct activities of our environmental and safety teams.
- Work with the environmental department to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
- Utilize value stream mapping to analyze and improve material flow and eliminate waste.
- Work with waste, sampling, paint logs, and water meters.
- Assist with audits and inspections.
What you'll need#
- Current student in sophomore standing or greater working towards a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to communicate with individuals at different management levels.
