About the role#
The Manufacturing Safety Intern supports the JLG safety department. You will work on various safety projects and gain exposure to different functional areas within the organization. This position requires a mix of office-based administrative work and physical activity in production environments.
What you'll do#
- Conduct written program and procedure reviews.
- Develop and update safety and health training curriculums.
- Assist with accident investigations and track corrective actions.
- Provide daily support to the safety department.
- Perform internal compliance and injury reduction assessments.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments and provide improvement recommendations.
- Quantify and present safety and health statistics to management.
- Support and manage the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Handle other duties and projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Safety and Occupational Health or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Ability to learn new programs quickly.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with manufacturing and safety principles is preferred.
