About the role#
The New York Post is seeking a Social Media Intern to join the Audience Development team for the Fall 2026 term. This part-time, paid internship provides hands-on experience in social media management and content creation within a major media organization. Participants will work 24 hours per week for a 10-week period from September 14, 2026, through November 20, 2026.
What you'll do#
- Assist in managing and creating content for social media accounts across platforms including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok.
- Engage with the audience by responding to comments, sharing updates, and fostering conversations.
- Curate viral content to maintain fresh and trending social media feeds.
- Collaborate with the editorial team to highlight breaking news, top stories, and exclusive content.
- Analyze social media performance data to help optimize engagement strategies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or recent graduation (within the past year) in Journalism or Media Studies.
- Strong communication skills and a creative approach to capturing audience attention.
- Current knowledge of social media trends, viral content, and pop culture.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player with a proactive attitude.
