About the role#
The California Post is seeking interns for the Fall 2026 program to work within our Los Angeles newsroom. This 10-week program is designed to provide hands-on experience in a digital-first environment. Interns will work alongside editors, reporters, and producers to contribute to original reporting, breaking news, entertainment, sports, and lifestyle coverage.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to live news coverage.
- Attend and participate in editorial meetings.
- Pitch original story ideas.
- Develop professional skills required for a career in journalism.
- Gain experience in news reporting, digital production, audience development, and multimedia storytelling.
What you'll need#
- Current junior or senior status in a bachelor's degree program, current master's student, or a recent graduate (within the past year).
- Pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Digital Media, Broadcasting, or a related field.
- Prior experience in journalism, newsrooms, campus media, student newspapers, broadcast, or digital media is preferred.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, professional environment.
Location & details#
- Location: On-site in Los Angeles (Century City), California.
- Term: September 14, 2026 – November 20, 2026 (10 weeks).
- Schedule: 24 hours per week.
- Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
- Credit: Eligible for college credit where applicable through your institution.
