About the role#
The New York Post is seeking a Video Control Room Intern to join the video department for the Fall 2026 term. This hands-on, paid internship offers experience in both studio and control room environments, contributing to the production of digital-native video content. This role is based on-site at the company headquarters in New York City.
What you'll do#
- Assist in all aspects of studio operations, including set creation, setup, and breakdown.
- Operate the teleprompter during studio recordings.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure the smooth execution of video shoots.
- Provide support for both field and office production tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a junior or senior pursuing a BA, an MA student, or a recent graduate who completed a degree within the past year.
- Academic background in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, Graphic Design, or Business Administration.
- An interest in working within an online news environment.
- Knowledge of control room and studio operations, with a focus on technical direction and audio.
- Strong attention to detail and a collaborative work style.
- Basic video editing skills are preferred.

- Term: September 14, 2026 – November 20, 2026 (10 weeks).
- Schedule: 24 hours per week.

- Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
