The New York Post is seeking a Social Media Intern to join the Audience Development team for the Winter 2026 term. This part-time, on-site role is open to current juniors, seniors, and recent graduates who have completed their degree within the past year. The internship runs from February 2, 2026, to April 10, 2026, and offers a pay rate of $17 per hour.
What you'll do#
- Assist in managing and creating content for social media accounts, including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok.
- Engage with the audience by responding to comments, sharing updates, and sparking conversations.
- Discover and curate viral content to maintain fresh and trending social feeds.
- Collaborate with the editorial team to highlight breaking news, top stories, and exclusive content.
- Analyze social media performance data to help optimize strategies and increase engagement.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a junior or senior, or recent graduation within the last year, in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Media Studies, or Business Administration.
- Experience in a news or newsroom setting.
- Strong communication skills with a creative approach to content creation.
- Current knowledge of social media trends, viral content, and pop culture.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments with an enthusiasm for learning.
- Previous social media experience is preferred, but a strong passion for digital engagement is essential.

- Compensation: $17 per hour.
