Sightline Media Group is seeking Editorial Fellows for Defense News and Military Times. This full-time, paid position offers the opportunity to report on national security, the defense industry, and issues affecting military service members, veterans, and their families. Fellows will work directly with the news team in a professional environment that prioritizes accuracy and clear storytelling.
What you'll do#
- Report and write byline stories for publication in print and online.
- Contribute to larger team-reporting projects.
- Produce articles focused on military, veteran, and national security concerns.
- Collaborate with video and audio teams if you possess relevant skills.
What you'll need#
- Demonstrated experience in writing and reporting.
- Ability to deliver byline stories that meet editorial standards.
- A strong commitment to accuracy and clarity.
- Academic background in Journalism, Communications, Political Science, International Relations, History, or English.
- A genuine interest in military and veteran affairs.

- Location: Washington, DC (On-site only).
