About the role#
Sightline Media Group is hiring Editorial Fellows for Defense News and Military Times. This is a full-time, paid position based in Washington, DC. We offer this fellowship for terms in Summer 2026 and Fall 2026.
What you'll do#
Fellows report and write byline stories for our digital and print publications. You will produce articles covering national security and military concerns, with a specific focus on the needs of service members and their families. You will also assist the news team with larger reporting projects. If you have the right skills, you may collaborate with our video and audio teams.
What you'll need#
We look for candidates with experience in writing and reporting who can deliver byline stories. You should have a strong interest in military and veteran affairs. We value accuracy and clarity in your work. Ideal candidates for this role have studied Journalism, Communications, Political Science, International Relations, History, or English.

This position is on-site in Washington, DC. We do not provide sponsorship for this role.
